I Hope You Dance

I was curious to know the story of this extraordinary couple and here is what I found. If factual, it makes this video– which has been making the e-mail rounds for a long time– even more incredible.

———————–

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder…. You get your fill to eat, but always keep that hunger….

May you never take one single breath for granted…. God forbid love ever leave you empty-handed.

I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean…. Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens….

Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance…. And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance….

I hope you dance. “

  1. This is awesome! And it is for real. They have been interviewed on several TV shows in China.

In this clip they complained about each other taking up too much time in the bathroom. LOL. (They are not a couple, as we would have assumed and perhaps hoped. There is a guy who plays the role of the “manager” and he is a couple with the woman. All three of them live together in a tiny apartment. Well. at that time in 2007. Not sure whether things have stayed the same or have improved…)

  2. This is my mother in laws favorite song and was on everything related to her 50th wedding anniversary a few years ago. It’s hard to choose to dance, but so worth it.

  3. Beautiful dance always brings tears to my eyes and their talent certainly did that. The fact that they are handicapped is such an inspiration and proves that you can do anything you set your mind to. Lovely, just lovely, thank you so much for sharing this video today. This just made my heart smile.

  4. Absolutely amazing and inspiring. I watched the video and was totally unaware that she had only one arm until I read the story. Then I watched the video again and came away even more in awe.
